Between my summer internship and my brand new, shiny iPhone (yes, I did wait in line for it; DON’T JUDGE ME) I have been extremely anti-social. 3G is pretty good, applications are AMAZING. But no copy/paste?!? Come on! For those of you struggling with this, google “iCopy” (yes, I am writing this from my iPhone and therefore cannot paste the URL). They’ve come up with a way to at least copy/paste within browsers for the time being. On the flip side, having real GPS on my phone is incredible.

Anyway, the verdict? I don’t know yet. Everytime I find something that annoys me about the iPhone, I discover a feature I like, or a new app. And if all else fails, the Blackberry Bold’s coming out soon!

I was hanging around the apartment, minding my business, when I heard a dull rapping sound on my window, the one overlooking Fenway Park.  As if being lulled to sleep by 36,000 drunken fans singing “Sweet Caroline” every time there’s a Red Sox game isn’t bad enough, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw this guy perched on the ledge.  He was all up in my face with his beady eyes.  I screamed and he swooped away.  Weird.

I later found out that he’s known as the “Fenway Hawk” – apparently he attacked a girl in April.  SO weird.  What does ths all mean?

Calorie arbitrage, that is.  I was in 7-Eleven and came across this.  40 calories?!  WHAAAT?  It sounds too good to be true!  Naturally, I bought all of the ones they had and ran home to search for a wholesaler.  Either that or I’m gonna rob me an ice cream truck.

It comes in white?  SO perfect for the summer.  I am trashing my white BlackBerry Pearl on July 11th.

Let me set the stage: a bike path, a confused pedestrian and my brand new, shiny new virgin birthday bike. Never before ridden! I wish I could relay it all to you using one of those 1920s Charlie Chaplin-style films, you know the kind they made before the talkies came about. But I guess I have to settle for this rudimentary collage.

I took my shiny new Specialized HRXC on its maiden voyage last week. It was a beautiful day. Birds were literally chirping. I was just finishing a nice little 5 mile loop by the river and was about to get off my bike and exit the bike path had a confused pedestrian acting more like an indecisive/confused squirrel not gotten in my way. I breaked my shiny new brakes to avoid him and flipped over my handlebars. So traumatic. I don’t know what was worse – the pain, the possibility that I sprained both of my wrists, or the crowd of people that gathered to see if I was ok (except for the pedestrian, who ran away, BTW!) as my bloody palms lifted my bike off the ground as the chain pathetically dangled off of the ring. This one bypasser actually was like, “Wow, that looked really impressive!” WTF?! I wasn’t trying to be Evel Knievel.

Ahh, beautiful 3G BlackBerry Bold…WA-WA-WEE-WOO. Aside from being completely sexy, the fact that it will be on a 3G network means that the web surfing/download/upload experience will be significantly (up to 4x) faster! Aaagh! I must have this! How fortuitous that the pearl on my Pearl broke.

This (July) and Wrath of the Lich King (November) are my most anticipated purchases of 2008.

I was standing in the “girls line”, waiting to get patted down before entering the Tweeter Center when I overheard this:

Girl #1: “Are you in college?”

Girl #2 (sheepishly): “No, I’m in high school.”

Girl #1 (no longer threatened): “Oh, I am. But you totally look like you’re in college”

Girl #2: “Really? Wow, thanks!”

This conversation really was a portent of the rest of the evening. It was like an Urban Outfitters had exploded in the Tweeter Center.* The whole place was swarming with high schoolers and whack college kids.  I’m talking dudes dancing to Rihanna.  And singing along.  Such a shame.

I left during the last song (Homecoming, one of my faves) to beat the traffic – so lame, I know. But I did manage to get a t-shirt for my collection. How the man is Kanye?! His Glow In the Dark Tour shirts were designed by Murakami (as was the cover of Graduation).

*I’m not allowed take credit for this astute observation.

Oh, so I was going to post a video I took with the camera I stuck down my pants but I found a better one on YouTube. This is the song that I envisioned choreographing a whole dance to for the MBA talent show. Maybe next year.

I did not know about the cheat sheet before coming to business school. I had no idea! When we were first told we were allowed to use one, I felt like I had won an adjustable mood ring in a plastic bubble from one of those prize machines with the claw. WHAT?? You can just bring a double-sided 8×11 sheet with key formulas written out to an exam?? In reality, it’s not as easy as it seems; if you don’t understand the material (at least loosely), it won’t help you that much.

Man, creating a cheat sheet for an exam is so weird when you stop and think about it. It’s like, “My entire semester is reduced to this?” Here is what my Managerial Economics cheat sheet looked like today:

But I was thinking how funny it would be if I showed up to every exam I take with just this like, “This is all I need, bitchezzzz!”:

NO WAY! I’m not a huge fan of Fendi, but this is kind of cool. For $1,300 you can get a Paint-Your-Own Baguette kit from eLuxury. Ok, the excitement has worn off for me, but it’s still worth mentioning.

I think he’s taking this “Louis Vuitton Don” thing a little too far…
